Philosophy

Modern recording studios have gone to war in the last decade diving into two camps. There are those who use digital technologies to their extremes who believe the goal or recording is to make the music sound as polished as possible at the expense of all of it’s human characteristics and natural quality’s, often relying 100% on programs like auto tune, complete drum sample replacement, and unreal guitar amp simulations to create unreal performances. On the other side there are elitists who believe the goal of recordings is to emulate the artist as closely to possible as they sound in real life, using minimal amounts of modern technology, leading to mixes that sound muddy and dated in the modern age. The goal of Paper Crane Recording Studios is to blend the best of both worlds using digital technology to enhance the way a band natural sounds, while capturing polished musical performances. In doing this, our mixes help keep real musicians relevant in the modern age.

• Tracking Only: For bands that wish to do mixing and mastering elsewhere the cost of tracking is $65/song

• Mixing/Mastering Only: For bands that have tracked elsewhere the cost to mix and master your music is $50 per song.
